We live in a time that provides a most unique opportunity for us to do the work of the Kingdom! People today are searching for answers more than ever, and we have them!
Jesus gave his disciples a strategy for evangelizing the world when He said “You are the Salt of the earth... You are the light of the world.”
Salt to the Biblical mind meant loyalty and fidelity as in a Salt Covenant. Our relationships are to be non-negotiable and selfless in our care for others. God knows that people are drawn to genuine relationships!
Our care for others is a shining light that will allow many to see God in us, working through us.
This year more than ever, shine your light through caring acts for others. It will be better than any sermon that they have heard!
Have you ever been an answer to someone’s prayer? We are called to be like God. We were created in His holy image and one of the main characteristics in my mind is that He is the ultimate Caregiver. From creation to the end of time, He made it all and for Him it was all made. He is there for us and we likewise need to be there for one another. We were made to show His good works through our lives by our deeds. It is one thing to ask God for things in our relationship to him and another to actually let Him get in our shoes to give to someone in their time of need. It is then indeed that we realize that is it more blessed to give than it is to receive.
