Acts 14..........
(Today we are traveling from Managua to Miami)
But when Barnabas and
Paul heard what was happening, they tore their clothing in dismay and ran out
among the people, shouting, “Friends,
why are you doing this? We are merely human beings like yourselves!
But even so, Paul and
Barnabas could scarcely restrain the people from sacrificing to them.
Now some Jews arrived from Antioch and Iconium and turned
the crowds into a murderous mob. They stoned Paul and dragged him out of the
city, apparently dead. But as the believers stood around
him, he got up and went back into the city. The next day he left with Barnabas
for Derbe. Acts 14:14-20
The adventure
with God is filled with “adventure”
Merriam-Webster Collegiate Dictionary defines adventure as
1:
an undertaking usually involving danger and unknown risks
2 : an exciting or remarkable experience
In everything we do we try to show that we are
true ministers of God. We patiently endure troubles and hardships and
calamities of every kind. We have been
beaten, been put in jail, faced angry mobs, worked to exhaustion, endured
sleepless nights, and gone without food. We have proved ourselves by our
purity, our understanding, our patience, our kindness, our sincere love, and
the power of the Holy Spirit.
We
live close to death, but here we are, still alive. We have been beaten within
an inch of our lives. Our hearts ache,
but we always have joy. We are poor, but we give spiritual riches to others. We
own nothing, and yet we have everything.

Cor 6:4-6, 9-10
Principle:
Life with God is often risky and dangerous, but is exciting,
remarkable, and fulfilling.
Finally, they returned by ship to Antioch of Syria, where
their journey had begun and where they had been committed to the grace of God
for the work they had now completed.
Upon arriving in Antioch, they called the church together and reported
about their trip, telling all that God had done and how he had opened the door
of faith to the Gentiles, too. And they
stayed there with the believers in Antioch for a long time. Acts
14:26-28
Principles:
God has a plan for humanity that
includes you!
He has prepared you ahead of time
for this work.
God will “nudge” you into the
ministry He has called you to, giving you greater responsibilities as you are
faithful.
Sudden inspiration is the norm of a
move of the Spirit.
Christian History shows that it is
only through the leading of the Holy Spirit that effective fruitful ministry
will actually take place. Human programs
will fail.
God will always give you the choice
to walk along with Him, or turn and “go home”
Acts is the story of the start of an
incredible movement of God, that has swept through history, going to the far
corners of the Earth.
